I have been obsessed with Colourpop and their sister-brand, Fourth Ray, since this summer. Their products are almost *too* affordable-I don’t feel guilty dropping money on their $12 palettes, for example, even thought I have more shimmery eye shadow that I can go through in a lifetime.

I generally keep my makeup routine pretty simple, although I have been playing with more color on my eyes since I do have infinite shadows now, but the older I get the more I want to figure out the perfect combination of products for my skin. I’ve tried a bunch of different Fourth Ray products at this point, and I thought I’d share what I’ve loved and what’s just missed the mark for me.

Have you used any of Fourth Ray’s skincare products? Tell me what you think!

I originally got this product to use as a toner. Don’t love it for that, but I have a bottle in my bathroom to spritz on my face midday or when I feel like my makeup needs a little pick-me-up. It smells great and is nice and cooling on my skin, but felt it was almost a little sticky on my bare skin when used as a spray toner. I’ll keep it around and maybe order it again as a refresher.

I will recommend this to everyone and anyone! I have cystic acne on my chin and this shrinks and dissolves my troubles within a couple of days if I use it consistently. Just a dab will do you, and I’ve been using the same bottle since August. I also break out on my check and tend to pick at problem areas, so having a remedy that clears everything up quickly is imperative to me. LOVE LOVE LOVE 110/10 will continue using this product.

CLEAN SLATE foaming exfoliator

To be fair, the reason I hate this product is because I did not read enough before I got it. First of all, it’s a powder. You add water to create a foaming paste. After I figured that out, although I didn’t really love it, the product was ok. I would lather up and wear it as a mask before hopping in the shower. However, I also didn’t read that there was tea tree oil in it. Guess who’s allergic and breaks out horribly? Me. Like I said, my fault, but I won’t be ordering this product again.

GLOW UP FACE OIL oil

This is actually the second face oil I’ve used, and it gets slightly higher points than the strawberry seed oil because it has a delicate, fruitier scent. I can’t tell a difference otherwise. I use face oil in the morning before a lightweight gel moisturizer. Especially in the winter (road salt in the air, heat in the office) my face can use an extra boost of moisture. Crazy to think I’m actually using oil on my face on purpose! I’d like to work my way through the different oils-see if I can eventually tell a difference from one to the other.

RAINFALL 2% hyaluronic acid serum

Now that I’m 30, it seems like I should be using a serum. This one boasts replenishing and plumping benefits for a more bouncy, youthful-looking complexion. I recently was asked if I was over 19, so I’d like to hold onto that. The word “acid” almost scared me away from trying this one, but it’s super gentle and absorbent. It goes on right before my moisturizer at night. There’s a very light cucumber scent to it, which I like. I want to try the raydiate serum next, formulated to enhance skin radiance for a brighter, more luminous complexion. As far as serums go, I’d definitely use this one again over another brand I tried that went on a little greasy.

the lightweight

This is exactly the type of moisturizer I always want to use! A lightweight gel that goes on clean on my skin. The only reason I don’t use it regularly is that I found my old favorite gel on Amazon Subscribe and Save at about half the price. I know some folks prefer a heavier moisturizer for their face, but since I already use an oil or a serum underneath, something light it just what I need to top it off!

rose face milk

At first, I was using face milk like a serum. Now, I use it as a makeup primer. It smells SO good, is a another form of lightweight moisture, and there are SO. MANY. KINDS. that Fourth Ray offers to try. Next on my list is tumeric!
