I brag about my crew any chance I get. One of the best nights of my life was my bachelorette party. Rolling 30 deep, we danced around our private room at Mission then moved on to Peyote for karaoke. Everyone was game to go with the loose Lisa Frank theme and seeing my friends from all different parts of my life in neon cat ears, together, was pretty magical.
My circle, specifically in DC, is mostly bloggers. What started as networking (with Dani taking the lead) has turned into a tight-knit group that is up for just about everything. My favorite example is from just before Corona rocked all of our worlds. We did a Dynasty themed brunch at Don Taco for Catherine‘s birthday. Some of us (me) had to actually Google what Dynasty even was, but it didn’t matter. A weekend afternoon spent in 80s inspired prom and cocktail dresses at a casual taco place, ordering all the guac and margs we could handle? Whatever. Sign me up. It was one of the best brunches I’ve ever had.
This is all to say I miss my girls. I’ve been able to see one or two at a time maybe once a month, but I miss our loud, crazy themed outings. I’ve already decided that if it’s safe, I’m hosting a Christmas brunch next year. But I’m so wishing I could host a Galentine’s Day situation to squish my friends and tell them I love them.
sigh
Maybe next year. Until then, here’s some inspo. Don’t forget to love on your favorite ladies on February 13th, even from a distance.
