At one point in very recent history, I had three jobs: my day job, cleaning the studios as a Corpower SET member, and my blog. Only- I didn’t think of my blog as a job until one of my dearest friends called it that. We were at brunch, and I mentioned feeling overwhelmed having two jobs (meaning Corepower and the law firm) and she was like “Oh yea! You must be so busy between your blog and your job!”
I don’t think she realized how much that meant to me that she considered my blog a job even before I did myself. I certainly at least consider it a side hustle- including my Zazzle shop under its umbrella. I’m creating a brand and a business for myself. I’m proud of it, and it was very cool to hear a friend who is not involved with blogging in any way give me credit that I wasn’t even giving myself.
I’m actually very lucky with the support I get. One of the five love languages is Words of affirmation, and I get that in spades. Kendall and my parents, and really everyone I surround myself with, are always telling me how proud they are of me. I don’t always believe I deserve it, but that’s my own fault.
