I could say I’m not for New Year’s resolutions… but I’d be lying.
But, Caroline, why wait until the new year to make positive changes in your life?
Well, dear reader, because New Year’s Day marks a new year, a new DECADE, and the yearly chance to start fresh. What’s wrong with buying into a tradition that’s nothing but good things?
From Thanksgiving to Christmas, I feel like we spend so much time focusing on others. We’re visiting and shopping for and eating with and cooking for people we care about. That’s not a bad thing, but it can be stressful, all that peopling. Take some time for you over the next few days to decide what YOU want and what YOUR goals are for 2020.
The top of my personal list is to start going back to yoga regularly. I loved Corepower, but it was just too expensive. I loved Jordin’s, but it closed suddenly. I really want to try DuPont Circle Yoga, and they have a bunch of new member specials that you can stack so that you can be sure the studio is the right fit for you. I love that!
I also want to get serious about reading a book per month, working on writing my own (if anyone has any idea of how to quantify this goal, let me know!), “me before media” in the morning, journaling more, and meditating at least a few minutes every day.
What are your goals in the New Year and what tools will you use to get there?
