I consider myself pretty low maintenance, but home-girl is definitely missing manis, pedis, and the ability to know when I get get a fresh blondening. In the scheme of things, these are such minimal problems, but I also think that taking care of yourself while we’re all safe at home is a huge thing for mental health.

Besides my first day working from home, I’ve been getting dressed every week day (and leggings at a minimum on weekends. No daytime jammies over here). Even if it’s just jeans of a comfy maxi, I feel so much better wearing clothes. I’ve also been staying on the path of my very set skincare routine and doing my basic everyday makeup.

While we can’t be at our favorite salons, there are things you can do to keep on top of your regular scheduled beauty routines. If you can, get yourself a gift certificate from your favorite salons for when we can safely return. Even if you’re not a regularly pampered queen, maybe treat yourself to a day (or several days) of beauty. Some of my faves are:

You can also maintain yourself! In fact, if you have extra time on your hands, give yourself a beautification day!

Keracolor Clenditioner Color Depositing Conditioner Colorwash

I am no longer box dying my hair. (I promise this time!) but in an effort to keep my blonde frosty, I am using this clenditioner one to a few times a week. For a while, I had been using it every day, but my hair was becoming over conditioned. It keeps the yellows at bay, but is gentle on my hair. These bottles also last forever. My tip is to apply it to dry hair and let sit while you do a mask, then wash everything off in the shower.

Color Me Clean Dry Shampoo

While the clenditioner above keeps highlights looking fresh, it doesn’t actually cover roots. Enter a dry shampoo in the same hue to do the job. Again, don’t expect it to dye your hair, but it’ll help blend the roots between highlight appointments.

Boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask

Since you’re not running out and spending money on expensive beauty treatments, now’s the time to splurge a little for at-home luxuries. Boscia is one of my favorite higher-end skincare brands, and that started with their peel-off charcoal mask and corresponding Hydration Gel. Can any skincare buffs confirm or deny if it’s bad to do a mask every day because I WILL!

Eos eos Shave Cream Lavender Jasmine

Self-maintenance doesn’t have to come with a luxury price-tag. This is the best shave cream I have ever used and it’s under $5! The scent is very delicate and it goes on like lotion. What am I even shaving my legs for? ME. Have you ever slipped into best with freshly shaved and moisturised legs? Yes. Yes you have. And it feels great.

sol gradual sunless taSol Sol nning lotion

Although we’ve been encouraged to safely get outside in our own neighborhoods, who knows what beach and pool time is going to look like this spring. (Besides, we should all be protecting ourselves from the sun anyway!) I have absolutely been loving this tanning lotion, which has given me a great little glow without turning me orange. Previously, I had been using Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops in my moisturizer, and I still use a drop in with my facial moisturizer.

Sally Hansen Insta Dri

What I miss most, as far a beauty maintenance goes, is a good mani. I have all but stopped biting my nails, but my gel mani from my birthday has completely peeled off. I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve painted my own nails in probably the last decade, but when I have, I exclusively use Sally Hansen Insta Dri. It really does dry quickly and comes in SO many colors. I usually go for soft pink, but I’m thisclose to using all of the colors I have at one time, because why not?

ACT Anticavity + Whitening Rinse

I crowd-sourced from some of my blogger boos about what maintenance care they had an eye on. Julie mentioned teeth whitening! Since dentists are largely only available for emergency appointments currently, dental hygiene is more important than ever! I use the above rinse twice a day. It’s alcohol free and keeps my sensitive teeth shiny white.
