My 27th year has been my best one yet. The way it started honestly set me up the right way- an endless pizza brunch with my closest friends and my new boyfriend, followed by taking that new boyfriend home for Easter to meet my folks- everyone loved him. The boyfriend became the roommate in my sunny new apartment in September in a weirdly seamless transition. Then my roommate proposed to me on stage with my favorite band.
While Kendall has been a huge reason that this year has been so fantastic, I’ve made a lot of personal gains as well. It started with Dani, truly, and her organization of Bubbles & Bloggers. Without the network she started cultivating, I don’t know that I would have had to guts to relaunch my blog. I certainly wouldn’t have the main squad I run with in DC. I am forever thankful for my new friends. I am braver and more confident than I have ever been.
Speaking of friends, my 27th year also saw 3 of my oldest friends marry the loves of their respective lives. April, May, and June were a collective whirlwind of love and celebration.
Of course this year wasn’t all peaches ‘n’ cream, but the hard stuff that life always comes with makes the sweet stuff even better. As always, a huge thank you to my my parents for always being there when I need to come home, symbolically and literally.
My mom and Kendall have asked me what I want for my birthday. Honestly, I just kind of want to go to Mission for their own birthday celebration– yes I am twins with my favorite HH in the city- and celebrate with whoever is around and wants to join. I don’t need anything- I feel like I have it all! But since I’ve been making monthly wish lists anyway-basically craving all things soft + pastel, with a dash of… statement earrings? The funny thing is that I rarely wear earrings but I have been so drawn to several funky pairs recently.
