I had three trips planned this year that have been postponed indefinitely: Chicago for my birthday, Nashville to see my CaseyCaseyWifeyFacey, and Wisconsin for my friend Ally’s anniversary party. Although they were all domestic, I was really looking forward to flights and visiting with friends.
IF I had the ability to travel anywhere in the world right now, it would be between Singapore, Greece, or London. I first went to London in 4th grade, and then again in middle school. It was one of those places where my heart just felt at home. There was amazing energy everywhere, and it felt like, to me, a charming New York City. I would love to go back as an adult.
I have certain memories of London that will stay with me always. The “mind the gap” announcement on the tube, meeting the cast of Cats, and being called “the little American princesses” when we visited the Tower of London.
The day we were there was in the middle of January. It was freezing cold and we were just about the only people there, so Candace and I got to spend as much time as we wanted with the crown jewels and exploring the tower. When I went back a few years later, it was hard to be one of hundred of tourists ushered through. I much preferred the royal treatment. 😉
The outfit below, while kitschy, reminds me of how I felt in London, both times. Vibrant, ladylike, classic, powerful.
