My friends have certainly seen this, and I even got a very sweet note from a follower I don’t know irl, but I’ve definitely been going through a period of transformation and self-discovery. I’m having more fun with clothes again, I’m back to blonde with a sassy lob, and I’m even playing with makeup more. I don’t want to say I’m reinventing myself; it’s more that I am truly appreciating myself. Life goes in ebbs and flows and I feel like this is high tide… or something.
I still don’t think I can pigeonhole myself into one particular style, but one thing is for sure- I love branding myself with personalized trinkets. Jewelry is a more subtle way of showing your personality than, let’s say, dyeing one’s hair rainbow, which I would totally do if it was socially acceptable for work. I’m currently wearing my bracelet with Candace’s initials, which I never take off, a bracelet that says “daughter” in Morse code, and a rose quartz bracelet I picked up in NYC. All very important to me, but still understated.
A monogram here, a favorite quote there, it’s all about letting your personality shine through with little details! (or big details like whole chonk of a giant monogrammed necklace!) I’ve checked out Etsy for some of my current favorite pieces to personalize.
