I’m currently sitting in my sunny living room while my task rabbit tasker is putting together my new dresser. I’m working tonight so I’m kind of taking it easy today, figuring out what to wear (probably the look below) and thinking about what I want going into the New Year. I’m not big on resolutions, but very big on manifesting. For this coming year, my two biggest goals are to utilize my masters degree in management and to date with intention. I’ve started working on both, but those are really the two biggest things on my mind. The solid wood dresser being built right now is kind of a metephor for how I see the upcoming year – things that are solid, asking for help when I need, and making moves to things that are permanent. Maybe that’s putting too much on a dresser, maybe I’m being sentimental, maybe I’m absolutely correct.
This hasn’t been the easiest year, but the older I get the more I realize that no year ever is. I went through a breakup that broke my heart even though it was amicable, I saw a lot of changes at work (including a second venue to oversee events for the holidays), I worked my ass off to finish grad school strong. I also took steps towards better financial habits, flew to Texas to see Taylor Swift with a dear friend, and decided to cut out alcohol (98 days a of today!). I feel so loved and supported by my little bubble of family and friends.
I’m excited to see what 2024 brings. Last year, I asked the universe to let it just be a year, not a growing year. That didn’t happen, and probably never will, so this year I’m leaning into the growth and want to take everything that comes at me as an experience and a lesson.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe New Year, and that you all have a chance to learn, grow, and change in the best ways in 2024!
