TGIF

Happy beginning of a long weekend. Goodbye to this week and hello to drinks with one of my bridesmaids tonight, a cathartic apartment clean tomorrow morning, and then back to Laytonsville again because I don’t like to be at the apartment by myself and I just need my parents right now. In the meantime, I’m so so so lucky to have such an amazing girl gang that has let me rant and rage this week. I miss my honey and ooooooh what I time it is for him to be away. womp womp

Patriotic Wreath

Yes, it’s a long weekend. But I hope you all recognize why we’re celebrating Memorial Day- to honor the fallen that lost their lives fighting for this country. This post been pinned to my twitter all week, but Lindsay said it best. I’ve mentioned this before, but my fiance is National Guard and just seeing him in his uniform makes me tear up. Although he’s not technically deployed he’s giving up time with his loved ones for a training right now. He, and all of our men and women of service, deserve our respect.

I also feel compelled to address the horrible attack in Manchester this week. The silver lining is seeing people do good in the face of tragedy. Ariana Grande is reportedly paying for the victims’ funerals. There are a few ways to help in your own way, but as citizens of the United States, the best way is to donate monetarily to help the families of victims.

I’ll be honest- didn’t have a great week. Kind of weird stuff going on that I can’t really get into. So I did by those shoes I will pretend are flats all summer.
