Whether you’re going away to celebrate New Year’s, or you just need an easy to stick to travel plan in your life, you’ve come to the right place. No matter how often we travel, the preparations never get easier. There’s just so much to do. If you tend to leave everything to the last minute, and then forget things, you’re definitely need of an easy to stick to preparation plan! But, you could even be the most organized traveler in the world, but still feel like you’re struggling a little. So, here’s what to do.

Gather The Essentials

First up, you’re going to want to make sure you gather your travel essentials. It’s always useful to keep these in a designated space. That could be with your luggage or wherever your store your accessories, but it’s handy to keep them together so that they don’t get lost. Things like your passport holder and luggage tags, travel cosmetics bag, charger and charger cables and any mini cosmetics that you collect over time are what you need to focus on here.

Check Your Paperwork

Then, it’s time to check your paperwork. There’s nothing like getting to the airport and realizing you don’t have anything you need. So, do this way ahead of time. Get your passport out of hiding and check that the details are still up to date (and that’s it’s not expired if you’ve not traveled in a while). You’ll also want to keep your tickets handy and check your travel insurance. It can also be sensible to make a note of any insurance contact numbers or policy numbers in case you need them while you’re away.

Book Everything Else

Once your paperwork is in order, you’re going to need to think about the other things you need to book, like a parking space at the airport or a taxi to get there and any transfers or taxis you may need when you get to your designation. If you’ve never arranged this step before, you can easily find local information online. Search for things like Newark airport parking, taxis to JFK or even airport taxi services and you should find the right companies to help you out.

Go Shopping

And then you can allow yourself to start with the fun stuff. Whenever we travel, it’s always exciting to be able to treat yourself to some new clothes or cosmetics. So, do it. Make sure you have all the items of clothing that you’ll need for your travels. Or, if you think you’re all covered, then at least pick up the items that you actually need when you travel – like sunblock or aspirin, sun towels or sunglasses.

And Pack!

When that’s all done, you can finally start to pack. Packing for any type of travel can be frustrating. Either you’re not entirely sure what you need, or you panic that you’ve forgotten something important when you’ve finished. So, it can help to have a packing list to guide you. Find a template or write a list of everything you need, then tick it off when you’ve got it piled up, and then cross it off completely when it’s in the case! It’s the best way to make packing stress-free.
