Kendall and I keep getting questions about our honeymoon. While we took a quick little trip to OCMD to relax after the wedding, we plan on taking a cruise around the Mediterranean soon. I’ve don’t some traveling myself, but I’ve never been to Spain, so I would love if one of our ports of call was Barcelona!

If you are looking for a classic kind of sunny trip abroad, Spain is one of the absolute go-to destination for that very purpose. No matter who you are, or what you are hoping to get out of your travels, you will find that Spain is always going to be a great choice for just about any kind of travelling. Of course, as with any country, it helps to know how to actually make the most of it, as otherwise you might find that you have inadvertently wasted your time or not quite managed to get it down right to the fullest. In this article, we are going to look at a few of the basic things you can do to make the most of a trip to Spain, no matter who you are or how much or little travel experience you might have.

Soaking Up The Sun

It is hardly a trip to Spain if you don’t take some time out of your schedule to simply sit and soak in the sun. you can do this by visiting one of the many glorious beaches, or by finding some Villas for sale Marbella might have on offer and staying there. However you do it, it is essential that you at least take a few days to simply sit and do nothing, as this is what the Spanish culture is incredibly good for. Remember: it’s okay to take a siesta every day, and it’s even better to say hasta manana and take a few days to do absolutely nothing. If you are considering a trip to Spain, make sure you take the time to do this at some point during it.

Sampling The Seafood

A big part of travelling anywhere is trying out the food, but Spain is particularly good for its range of seafood, and if you love seafood as much as I do you will know that that means you can’t go without trying it. Whether it is a classic seafood paella, complete with king prawns and lobster, or just a simple fish and chips type dish, you will be blown away by the sheer quality of some of the cooking in Spain. You must at least sample the seafood if you are to really make the most of a trip to Spain, and you will probably actually find that seafood is the majority of what you eat. Of course, if you are not a seafood fan, there is plenty else besides which you will be able to try, and in particular the steak comes highly recommended by many past and frequent travelers to this beautiful country.

Getting Around

You can get around Spain in many ways, but one of the best is to go by car, as this is especially useful as a means of finding out all of those lovely secret little places that we all love to find. Spain is a particularly good country for getting around by car or van, and if you are keen to really set out and explore you will be amazed at some of the things you can find and some of the truly hidden gems that there are out there to discover. You will need to get around in some manner, so you might as well do it this way. You will be able to make the holiday truly yours, see much more of the country than most tourists, and you can stop and go as you please – unlike relying on public transport or the help of others.

Seeing The Architecture

There are many things that Spain is famous for, but one in particular which needs your attention is the architecture. If you visit just about any of the major cities, you are bound to come across some of the best architecture in Europe, and possibly in the world. Some of it is simply stunning, and also some of the most famous that there are in the world as well, making them something to tick off your bucket list too. Even if you don’t really know much about architecture, you will find your breath taken away at intervals by some of the truly stunning work on display, so it is definitely worth visiting Barcelona and Madrid in particular.

If you take the above on board, you should be able to enjoy Spain much more fully and see much more of it than most others would. It’s worth doing so in order to really make the most of your trip abroad.
