My new apartment is basically split into three definitive rooms – the bedroom, living room, and a dining area that leads into the (tiny) kitchen.

While I’ve been super deliberate in the art pieces and furniture for the bedroom and living room, my kitchen/dining is going to be rainbow and a little bit chaotic. I’ve wanted a rainbow-y kitchen since I worked at Pier 1, stockpiling little somethings. Admittedly though, a lot of that stuff was more country than my taste ended up being, and has been sold or given away since then. This includes three wooden signs that said “live”, “laugh”, and “love” that Meg and I actually had hanging in our apartment in Georgetown. Holy cringe.

The centerpiece of this whole thing is a table that I got for 75% off when I worked at Pier 1 because it was missing a piece. I then got the missing piece fo’ free when I helped out at another store and someone returned their table because a different piece of that one was broken. I got chairs in four different shades (ivory, avocado, teal, and mint-looks like their gone forever I can’t find them anywhere online) and I’m actually going to replace the wood table top with a smaller glass one.

As the kitchen is TEENY TINY, I made a decision to put a smaller console-type table in the dining area as a coffee/tea bar. My day does not start until I have my coffee, so having a solid little place to prepare it is important to me.

Since the dining room opens up into the kitchen, I wanted to do a rug with a matching runner to tie them together. Other than the general flow of the rooms, I just want color, color, color! This is kind of the general look. What do you think?
