The high-heeled shoe is often thought of as a symbol of femininity. Some women wear heels for special occasions, while others decide to wear them daily. However, wearing high heels does not come without health consequences. High heels can change a woman’s posture and feet over time, in addition to causing damage to the feet in the short term.

Many people believe that these shoes were invented by French cobbler Hubert de Givenchy in 1952 when Audrey Hepburn was filming the movie “Sabrina.” However, other historians claim these shoes actually date back to ancient Greece and Rome, where men and women wore them during ceremonies. If you look at paintings from this period, you will see that both male and female legs are being exposed, so it is quite possible that high heels have been around for a long time.

Regardless of when this style was first created, high heel shoes are now worn by women worldwide, and they continue to be popular today. More than 4 million pairs of these shoes are manufactured every year, which means plenty are available to suit different tastes and budgets. You can buy them in stores or online but bear in mind that you will need to break them into your wardrobe gradually because the shape can cause strain on your feet if not used relatively frequently.

There are also serious long-term consequences associated with wearing these types of shoes all the time, such as problems with posture and balance. For example, you could stretch muscles without even realizing it or develop back or joint problems if you wear high heels regularly (this includes shopping at the mall). Because of this, Chiropractic Care recommends that you make sure to give yourself some time off from wearing these types of shoes every now and again; you should be fine after about two weeks if you acclimate yourself slowly.

When you wear high heels for any length of time without wearing them often enough beforehand (ideally at least 2-3 months), you will need to give your feet time to adapt. This does not mean that you should go out and buy a new pair today, as it is better to ease yourself in slowly. Instead, identify your old standby heels and start using those instead; maybe only wear them every other day initially, for example. Once your feet have adjusted and any pain has gone after wearing the high heel shoes, then you can begin wearing them on a daily basis if you wish.

These shoes may look great with certain outfits, but it is important not to overlook the negative consequences wearing these types of shoes can have on your body – especially your feet. If you spend too much time walking around in them without giving your foot muscles time to build up, you will notice pretty quickly that they can cause pain. There is a reason why high heels were originally designed for special occasions and not everyday use: the shoes put your body in an unnatural position, and this means that you need to take extra care when walking in them.
