It goes without saying that we all want our weddings to be magical, mesmerizing and above all memorable. Pulling off a day so brilliant that guests will be talking about your delicious rainbow wedding cake, ombre bridesmaid dresses and adorable couples photo montage years later. Still, with the industry becoming more expensive than ever how do you know what trends to pick? What’s going to be a waste of money? Which styles are going to look dated in only a few years?

Consider Color

More and more brides are moving away from the traditional idea of the classic all white wedding. Instead, they’re focused on making their big day a cornucopia of color with bold shades such as reds, purples, pinks and even greens dominating wedding venue decor. Forget floral centerpieces, cream colored table linen and ivory hued roses and instead think to about incorporating your favorite color, season or even food into the mix. Why not choose hanging garland centerpieces instead? Not only are they very on trend but look cool so think fluffy feather balls and giant paper flowers.

Make An Entrance

Traditionally the bride is the last person in the church and pretty much the first one out having been walked slowly, and carefully down the aisle by whoever is giving her away. However, brides are constantly looking to make bigger, and better entrances from arriving on horseback, on top of tanks and even by helicopter! A lot more thought is also being put into the appearance of the ceremony site itself. From covered walkways, flower walls, and lantern lit aisles to having pre-wedding entertainment such as dancers, circus performers and even magicians lining the route to the alter!

Two In One Dresses

One of the hardest things for a bride to do is pick, and stick to just one amazing wedding gown. Now designers, sensing a change of pace, are creating more wedding dress separates so that you can choose to change one, or more elements of your wedding outfit for the reception. Looking to dazzle your guests? Pick a jewel encrusted Swarovski sweetheart corset that sets off your glittering engagement ring; you could even talk to an engagement rings specialist about matching wedding bands. Pair your corset with a removable tulle overlay but have a skirt underneath that will effortlessly transform it from a princess-worthy ball gown to a sleek, sophisticated mermaid that’s perfect for dancing in!

Midnight Feasts

Our wedding menus are also evolving beyond simple three-course dinners and canapés with more and more couples opting for brunch items, DIY pizza stations, catering trucks, cotton candy machines, chocolate fountains and flavor packed popcorn bars. ‘Supper buffets’ are also now being served as well as plenty of late night, or midnight snacks such as fully loaded bacon butties, hot dogs, fries and mini hot chocolate cups to keep guests energy up throughout the evening.

SNAPCHAT GEOFILTER

Technically Hitched

This year technology is going to become even more involved in weddings, as the trend for all singing all-dancing wedding websites, honeyfunds and even customized Snapchat filters show no sign of slowing down. Soon-to-be brides, and grooms are even having cake toppers, menus, 3D invitations and place cards designed via 3D printer.
