Branding is so important for businesses. It’s how customers recognize what they love, respect, and are familiar with. One of my favorite examples of prime branding is Too Faced. Their confectionery collections are adorable and encourage collecting from their customers, their product is great, and I’m always excited to see what new things they come up with.

But have you ever considered your own brand? What’s kind of funny is that your own personal brand is made up of your favorite brands. (How many times can I say #brand in one post? Sorry y’all.) I sometimes worry that my style isn’t defined enough, but then I have friends send me things on the regular being like, this is so you! and they’re right and I realize, yes, the brand is strong with this one!

I want to showcase some of my own favorite brands that make up my own personal brand. And I’m curious- what are yours?

Land’s End

To be completely fair, I inherited this one. I’ve been wearing Land’s End my entire life, and for good reason. The quality is there, the pieces are classic, and the sizing is consistent*. (The last point is the reason why Loft is going to be omitted from this list, despite the fact that I own a whole helluva a lot of it.) Specifically, I now own at least 6 of Land’s End’s ponte dresses for work. All 8 petite.

*My mom would like me to add that they use all natural fibers.

Brandless

I suppose you can’t really see Brandless on me, but if given the chance, I will tell you about them. See my post here, but let me just tell you they have made an extremely loyal customer out of me.  I’m just about to reorder my vitamins and the best exfoliating scrub I have ever used. I guess you can actually see this brand on me- my eyelashes have never been longer and my skin has never been better.

Too Faced

I mean, I mentioned it up above, but it really is one of my favorites. My friend Rachel, who usually has it on lock what’s going on at Sephora and Ulta, has alerted me to sales of my tried and true bronzer, as well as given me her own when her sister got her the wrong color. It makes my face smell like chocolate and is the perfect blendable color for my weird skin tone. Just make sure you don’t do what I did and end up with a fake product because it looks like your fave on the outside…

Colourpop

Despite barely having a clue about makeup, I’ve gotten extremely into Colourpop in the past year to the point it may be a problem. I’d heard good things and their products are affordable, long lasting, and cruelty-free, but what really sucked me in are the collaborations. My first palette from them was Brunch Date from collab with blogger Zoella and I was impressed with how pigmented the eye shadow stayed even after a day of running around. Most recently, they linked up with one of my favorite YouTubers, Safiya Nygaard. I was absolutely thrilled that they brought back the color based on the time she melted together every lipstick shade at Sephora to find a true medium color.

Ralph Lauren

I guess if I had to pinpoint my look, it would be what my mom has always called prep with an edge. Ralph Lauren is at the center of that. I love mixing timeless pieces with something eye catching and quirky, like the . Admittedly, I mostly enjoy Lauren a la the outlet in Clarksburg, but that’s where the fun and affordable stuff lives! My most badass work dress came from there, but I have some great graphic tees and a new teddy sweatshirt I can hopefully bust out this weekend.

Steve Madden

If you heard this gif, we can be best friends. Steve Madden shoes are the best. From sneakers to heels, some of my favorite shoes come from my boy Stevie. My first pair of Steve Madden shoes were actually denim Stevie Girl wedges from Limited Too for my birthday in 7th grade and I haven’t looked back since. My Cliff sneakers are slightly wedged but comfy enough I one time clocked 4 miles after work.

Kate Spade

Last but certainly not least, we have Kate Spade. Although recently, after their acquisition by Coach, their line has lost a bit of the whimsy I loved, they still make a quality bag, fun jewelry, and the occasional dress that fits like a dream. How many pairs of their glitter earrings do I have? The limit does not exist.
